![]() ![]() But when it comes down to it, even though our walls and ceilings look rather lovely, smooth, and like beautiful old plaster some 15 years removed from the original work, there are problems. Not only did I learn this flawed technique, for years I peddled it as the righteous path forward as I shared our progress. Oh, and we've even been featured in a published guide on how to attempt some DIY plaster repair (that makes some in the historic plaster repair community cringe because it used joint compound as an ingredient)! See '90s Alex, all that time spent memorizing the lyrics to Rapper's Delight and figuring out how to dance like MC Hammer have paid off, now you're a pseudo plaster expert and can grow a semi respectable yet unreasonably creepy looking mustache. Along the way we've picked up tips and tricks, we've made plenty of mistakes, and we finally feel like we're starting to get the hang of this whole plastering thing.until we learn more that makes us second guess what we've done in the past and we begin to think we're actually just total crap at plastering. In our 15 years we've learned more about plaster than we ever expected when we first bought our historic home. Go ahead and play another game of Joe Montana Football on your Sega Genesis and call me when you're less obsessed with Andre Agassi. Don't worry 13 year old Alex, you're even more lame at 13 than 40 year old you, you just don't know it yet. My teenage self of the early '90s just read that statement and cringed at what his life has become. Within this first coat I would embed my fiberglass mesh (window screen) to bridge any cracks and gaps that had formed over the years. At this point we have over 15 years of amateur plastering experience in repairing anything from small sections of cracked or missing plaster, to complete room overhauls. To accomplish this I decided to use StructoLite, a modern mix type base coat plaster. Finish coat to give a smooth and ready for paint surfaceīased on this we wouldn't have enough Master of Plaster to do the whole room with two base coats, so we had to make a little change with the first coat. ![]()

That said, a few dash cams, like Garmin’s, include an extra USB port in the 12-volt plug, letting you charge your phone while the dash cam is plugged in. Powering the dash cam through the 12-volt outlet is the easiest solution, but it may prevent you from plugging in other devices unless you use a 12-volt splitter. Some dash cams include a tool that makes it easier to tuck the cord into molding for others, you can buy a separate kit. If you’re installing a rear camera as well, you’ll also need to hide the cord running between the front and rear cameras, usually by routing it under the car’s trim and carpet. ![]() For step-by-step details, check out this how-to guide. For a forward-facing camera, you can typically tuck the cord into the molding along the edge of the windshield and then run it under the dash to the power source, which can be the car’s 12V power outlet (aka cigarette lighter), the fuse box, or, for some dash cams, the vehicle’s OBD II diagnostic port. Ferry ticks the appropriate boxes as a crime drama with shades of action, with Frank Lammers' tough-guy act leading from the front. The cast and the cinematography need to be applauded for pulling it off quite well. There's occasional humour, interesting-yet-familiar narrative beats, and adequate pacing. This has, of course, everything to do with Daniëlle (a bubbly Elise Schaap), a woman he randomly meets while on the job. We get to know more about Ferry in each scene (I can't recall a scene where he isn't present) - he is definitely a grey-shaded human but we root for him because his heart is in the right place. What happens when Ferry Bouman (with a troubled childhood) returns to his native place to locate a rival gang and finish them off? There are certain formulaic elements at play, but director Cecilia Verheyden and writers Nico Moolenaar and Bart Uytdenhouwen never let viewer attention go astray. ![]() I'll definitely watch this again.Ī prequel to the Dutch Netflix series "Undercover" (that I haven't watched), Ferry is an engaging gangster drama that tells a rather predictable story. If Undercover continues (and I hope it will), we don't know if Ferry will make another appearance, so this is potentially us saying goodbye to him. Frank Lammers imbues a character that could very easily have been a two dimensional monster with a degree of sympathy. It's brutal in places, as we've come to expect from Undercover, but there are also touching moments and humour too. Chronologically you could watch this before watching Undercover, but I liked the fact that I already knew aspects of Ferry and Dani prior to watching this and Filip's cameo is definitely funnier. Instead Ferry is placed front and centre and we get a great backstory to the events that ultimately led to him being investigated in Undercover. Yes, some major characters from Undercover are missing, but given that this is a prequel set a good few years before season one, it wouldn't make sense for them to be present. If you aren't already familiar with Ferry from that series, you might not be as excited about this film, but if you enjoyed the series you won't feel let down by this movie prequel. Overall a solid film a must see for fans in 'Undercover' and highly recommended for fans of gangster movies.Īdmittedly this film is probably very much one for the fans of Undercover. There is a decent amount of action, and, even though we know certain characters must survive because they are in the series, it is tense at times. The cast did a solid job especially Frank Lammers and Elise Schaap as Ferry and Danielle. For me that is a good thing, films that try to be bigger than the series they are based on tend to feel too different. The story has the same feel as the series. Ferry was a great character in 'Undercover' so it is fun to see how he got to where he was in that series in particular it was great seeing how he met Danielle and how his involvement with her ultimately introduces him to the possibilities of entering the ecstasy business. ![]() I found this to be a solid gangster film. He also meets other familiar characters some for the first time, others he knows well. This leads to another name a man staying at a campsite in Belgium here he meets the woman who viewers of 'Undercover' know will become his wife. He identifies one of those involved and tracks him down. Ferry promises to find those responsible and eliminate them. During the robbery Brink's son is shot and seriously wounded. One day a gang attacks the property where Brink's has his money stored. Ferry works as enforcer for a crime boss named Ralph Brink. Since this takes place before the series it is no necessary to have seen it first. This film is a prequel to Belgian/Dutch crime series 'Undercover' it shows how season one antagonist went from being an enforcer for an Amsterdam crime boss to being involved in the ecstasy trade. ![]() ANIMATE Build a world and bring it to life with the Hexels animation timeline.
